The Third Circle by Amanda Quick

The Third Circle is the 4th book in Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick 's Arcane Society Novels. The romance series features heroes and heroines all with paranormal powers and connected to the Arcane Society, a secret organization that has been around for at least 2 centuries whose members all have paranormal powers.

In the 4th installment of the series Ms. Krantz writing as Amanda Quick takes us to the Late Victorian Era were we meet Leona Hewitt and Thaddeus Ware. Leona, a paranormal crystal worker, is determined to retrieve a rare crystal that was stolen from her family. While searching the house of the man currently holding the crystal, Leona meets Thaddeus a paranormal hypnotist currently employed to retrieve the same crystal. This night of adventure creates an eternal bond between Leona and Thaddeus but before this bond can be explored Leona disappears with the crystal. In order to retrieve the crystal and protect the mysterious woman who has captured his heart Thaddeus must track Leona down and find the true purpose of the mysterious crystal.

I enjoyed this installment in the Arcane Society series. When I read the first book some time ago I was not sure if I would be interested in a series that incorporated different time periods, especially since the majority of my romance reads are historical romance. But I have to give Ms. Krantz kudos for keeping me interested in the both time lines of the Arcane Society. By giving you installments in both historical and modern time periods you are able to see the development of society as a whole. You actually get the feeling that this society could really exist. Both time periods have their own story line connected by the society and the Jones family (The Jones family is responsible for the Arcane Society).

The other books in the series are Second Sight by Amanda Quick, White Lies by Jane Ann Krantz, and Sizzle and Burn by Jane Ann Krantz. If you find this book intriguing you should read them all. My personal favorite in the series in White Lies but only because I absolutely loved the heroine in this book. On a scale of 1-5. I rated all the books a 4 individually and the series as a whole rated a 4.5. Definitely worth reading for fans of paranormal romance and series novels.

I haven't read this series but you've peaked my interest. Right now I'm reading The first book in the Whitfields series--Long Time Coming by Rochelle Alers and then up next is the second book in the Three Mrs. Fosters series--The Perfect Man by Carla Fredd.
