Possessesd by the Highlander by Terri Brisbin

When Marian Robertson, the Robertson Harlot” reputation was been destroyed to protect family secrets she was forced into a quiet and lonely existence. Her only true joy coming from her time with her daughter. of others. Her life is turned up side down when Duncan MacLerie, the Peacemaker, arrives on Robertson land to negotiate a treaty with the MacLerie's. When Duncan is manipulated into a marriage with Marian to complete the task put before him Duncan marries the Robertson Harlot without hesitation. But he will not trust her until he knows why this marriage has been forced upon him. In the midst of secrets love blooms. Will the love protect them as secrets that could destroy all are revealed.

Possessed by the Highlander is a quick read filled with drama and secrets. Though the writing itself dragged a bit the story and the budding romance between Marian and Duncan kept me interested. Their growing love seems to surprise them both for their minds are always wrapped in the secret of Marian's past. I enjoyed watching these two fight a love that was obviously not going away. The romance was sweet and hot at the same time. The secret was like another character in this book. It followed them everywhere and dictated all of their action. You will find yourself reading just to meet (or learn) the secret.

Not a real wife just woman to make him look respectable. When Maggie applies for the "wife" job she is nothing like Hank expected. Now thrown together under the terms of their business relationship Maggie and Hank find a love they can not denied. Will Hank and Maggie find happiness between the lines of their business relationship. You will have to read to find out.

I rarely read Contemporary Romance but this title intrigued and it was on sale as an audio book so I thought I would take a chance. And I am so glad I took the leap of faith. This story was so adorable. Maggie and Hank were meant to be together. Love hit them both over the head like a ton of bricks. It was a delight following these two as they figured out how to handle the feelings that developed virtually overnight. The small Vermont town that served as the back drop for this budding love was perfect. The confusion and small town drama the town added to the story was delightfully funny and campy. Seeing these two fall in love was a delight.

I really enjoyed this book. It had just enough of romance mixed with laughter and hi jinks to keep the pages turning and the reader interested in this crazy cast of characters. The romance though quick was still believable and pure. Now if you are someone who seek hot and spicy love scenes this book is not for you but I personally thought the scenes in this book perfect for the story Evanovich was weaving. They were hot enough to show the passion without taking over the story. I would definitely recommend this book to any contemporary romance fan.
